Job Title: Employment Defense Attorney
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid) - Open to Full Remote
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Employment Defense Attorney to join our growing legal team. This role is a hybrid work schedule, offering flexibility while maintaining a collaborative and supportive work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience defending employers in employment law matters, handling litigation from inception to resolution, and providing sound legal advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent employers in employment law disputes, including wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation cases.
- Manage all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to employers regarding compliance with labor laws and risk management.
- Prepare legal documents, including employment agreements, policies, and handbooks.
- Handle administrative hearings, arbitrations, and mediations before agencies such as the EEOC, DFEH, and DLSE.
- Conducted legal research and drafted memoranda, legal briefs, and correspondence.
- Work independently while collaborating with a team of experienced attorneys.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
- 2+ years of experience in employment law defense litigation.
