Job Summary:
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for utilizing in-depth knowledge of KP's operations, principles, philosophies, policies, and organizational structures to advocate independently. This includes establishing effective relationships with legislative and executive branch staff, legislators, trade associations, and other key groups; influencing policymakers and their staff regarding KP and the impact of proposed legislation or regulations; partnering with policymakers to craft legislation; advising internal stakeholders on legislation, regulations, and policy changes; communicating and negotiating with relevant stakeholders on public policy issues; leading the development of legislative policy positions; and reviewing legislation to assess its impact on KP.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Promotes KP's interests externally: Fosters relationships with officials and groups, guides communication strategies, mentors on influencing external partners, and facilitates effective representation of KP.
- Partners internally on government relations: Coordinates with stakeholders on legislative developments, integrates approaches, guides planning, manages recommendations, and communicates positions internally.
