Friendship Public Charter School operates a network of college-preparatory public charter schools, serving students from preschool through 12th grade. Responsibilities include:
- Create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership of their learning that fosters students’ intellectual, social, and emotional development.
- Provide daily instruction with clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and high-quality assessments aligned with Friendship’s curriculum and standards.
- Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences that broaden students’ exposure and interests, foster ingenuity, and require application of knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a visually appealing classroom environment with resources aligned to curriculum and standards, and display exemplary student work.
- Communicate effectively with students to understand their talents, interests, and needs, and convey learning expectations and progress.
- Engage regularly with families to discuss students’ talents, interests, needs, and progress.
- Collaborate with staff and across the network to enhance student learning and achievement through meetings and professional development.
Qualifications include:
- Experience in the role preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Successful completion of the Praxis II Exam.
- One year of teaching experience with demonstrated high student achievement and growth.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Two years of teaching experience with proven high achievement and growth.
