Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Director to join our close-knit team at The Selfhelp Home, where every resident is truly at home. Founded in 1938, our community is built on rich Jewish traditions and values, creating a unique and vibrant environment for our residents. As a vital member of our team, you'll work collaboratively to uphold our legacy of compassionate care. The HR Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of human resources within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison to the employees and administration.
- Conduct human services in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the corporation in compliance with federal, state, and local government.
- Employee recruitment and retention.
- Develop retention plans and follow through on ideas.
- Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Keep employee records up to date by processing employee status changes, terminations, wage increases, and new hires in a timely fashion within the HRIS.
- Assist in the hiring process by coordinating job postings on the website, reviewing resumes, and performing telephone interviews and reference checks.
- Process all background checks, drug tests, and references.
- Prepare new hire paperwork and administer thorough orientation/onboarding processes.
- Prepare payroll for processing, including entering missed meal breaks, approving missing punch requests, processing wage increases, and coordinating with managers to ensure timecards are approved.
- Assist employees in answering general benefit and payroll questions.
- Support employee performance management and training programs.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; 3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in Senior Living
- Strong proficiency in HRIS systems
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works closely with the management team to support our staff.
