HR Specialist
Temp-to-Hire | On-site | Lorton/Springfield, VA
A fast-growing manufacturing company in the Lorton/Springfield area is seeking a reliable and motivated HR & Payroll Administrative Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with direct exposure to executive leadership and a fast track to career growth.
This role is perfect for someone with 2-3 years of experience in HR who wants to grow into a manager-level position within the next year or two. The company is scaling rapidly, and the right person will play a key part in building HR operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee data in the payroll and HRIS systems (such as ADP or Paylocity)
- Track PTO, sick time, and ensure proper pay calculations for regular and overtime hours
- Support employee onboarding, terminations, and changes in employment status or compensation
- Handle employee file management and ensure compliance with company and legal documentation requirements
- Provide administrative support to the Chief HR Officer on daily HR and payroll operations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee payroll and HR-related inquiries
- Assist with reporting, audits, and ad hoc projects in support of the HR and payroll functions
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources or Payroll support
- Familiarity with ADP, Paylocity, or similar payroll/HRIS platforms is a plus
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset
- Must be comfortable working in a blue-collar, warehouse/office environment
- 100% on-site role in Lorton/Springfield — must be available to work on-site Monday through Friday
