Job Overview: The Instructional Designer is a contractor individual contributor responsible for designing and delivering multimedia, business-specific learning solutions. This role focuses on analyzing training needs, developing strategic and operational training plans, and delivering optimal learning solutions that accelerate time to value for learners. Content will cover a wide range of topics, including emerging trends and concepts, with a focus on business and industry-specific needs. Prior experience in creating learning solutions for the financial sector is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in Large Training Initiatives: Contribute to the execution of large, multifaceted training initiatives with high organizational visibility, requiring a deep understanding of business needs and processes.
- End-to-End Program Administration: Help administer training programs and projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed within specified timeframes and budgets.
- Learning Solution Design: Lead the design, development, and implementation of learning solutions that adhere to instructional design best practices and adult-learning principles. Ensure that emerging topics are addressed through well-developed curricula and programs.
- Strategic Input on Curriculum Design: Provide input on the strategic direction for curriculum development, ensuring that learning objectives, visualizations, and delivery methods are appropriate for the audience and the subject matter.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a high level of quality in all learning solutions through continuous improvement, incorporating best practices for evaluation and feedback.
- Multimedia Content Production: Lead the production of synchronous and asynchronous learning solutions, including animated instructional videos, on-demand e-learning, in-person and virtual instructor-led training, job aids, and interactive playbooks.
- Graphic and Animation Creation: Design graphics and animations that simplify complex ideas, reflect organizational values, bring industry relevance, and showcase creativity.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field, such as Learning Technology, Adult Learning, Graphic Design, Education, Communications, or a related area.
- Experience creating learning solutions for a business environment, with a preference for experience in the financial sector.
- Master's degree in Instructional Design is strongly preferred.
- Expertise in instructional design principles, with experience in creating effective learning solutions.
- Proficiency in Articulate 360 suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Camtasia.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated and highly driven to produce results.
- Adept at project management, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
