Description
We are looking for an experienced Internal Communication Specialist to join our team on a long-term remote freelance contract basis in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in crafting and executing internal communication strategies that align employees with the company's vision and goals. Collaborating closely with teams across the organization, including People & Culture, you will contribute to fostering an engaged and informed workforce.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the review and approval process for internal communication materials to ensure consistency and alignment.
Manage incoming communication requests and maintain an organized, up-to-date calendar of internal initiatives.
Develop and oversee content for all-employee meetings, ensuring clarity and engagement.
Act as a trusted advisor to internal departments, providing guidance on effective messaging and delivery methods.
Measure the impact of internal communication efforts on a monthly basis, using data to drive improvements.
Utilize tools like Asana and generative AI platforms to streamline content creation and project management.
Create innovative communication strategies to enhance employee engagement and alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure communication plans are integrated and effective.
Contribute to brand awareness through the development of engaging and impactful internal content
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in a communications role, with a focus on internal communications.
Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines.
Strong project management capabilities, including handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with tools such as Asana and generative AI platforms for efficient content creation.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and develop innovative solutions to communication challenges.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to building relationships across departments.
Preferred experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, CMS platforms, and digital communication strategies. Innovation starts with people.®
