DescriptionIFC - a member of the World Bank Group - is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. We work in more than 100 countries, using our capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities. Our mission is to leverage the power of the private sector to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet.
IFC is a leader in the Telecoms, Media, and Technology (TMT) sector in emerging markets. Since 2010, IFC has committed and mobilized over $10 billion for TMT projects. We support mobile network operators, particularly those in challenging and less-developed markets where the digital divide is pronounced. We finance digital infrastructure focusing on shared models like carrier-neutral, open-access broadband networks, independent tower operators, and data centers. These models are cost-effective, promote competition, and are environmentally conscious solutions to providing high-quality, affordable connectivity—a foundation of the digital economy.
Recently, IFC has expanded into emerging digital technologies and media. Potential investments are made via equity, mezzanine, or debt instruments.
