Position Summary
The Investment Consultant - Relationship Manager on a FA/PWA team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing relationships with new and existing clients. The Relationship Manager combines personal skills with all the resources of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to help clients achieve their financial goals. In collaboration with the Financial Advisor Team, they assess clients' circumstances and objectives to provide personalized, strategic investment consulting. Relationship Managers have access to a full range of wealth management services to offer to clients of the Financial Advisor teams they join.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise clients according to the Team's strategy
- Analyze investment opportunities and client needs, recommending suitable strategies
- Develop and maintain client relationships, helping meet their financial goals through financial planning and wealth management
- Prepare and deliver presentations/seminars for clients and prospects as needed
- Ensure compliance with all industry rules and regulations
- Perform additional tasks as required
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional certification required
- Active Series 7, 63, and investment adviser representative (RA) registration where applicable; additional licenses may be required
- Product and state licenses should align with those of Financial Advisors on the team
- At least 5 years of business experience with proven success in a previous career
- FINRA registration for at least 5 years preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Extensive knowledge of the financial industry and products
- Effective communication skills with co-workers and clients
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Understanding of compliance rules and firm policies

- Branch Manager or Associate Market Manager
