PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will join ATR's Engineering Services Division, working as a team member at our government client site involved in provision and managing Linux and Windows systems for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, West Bethesda. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for managing and maintaining both Linux and Windows operating systems within a network environment, including installation, configuration, security and optimum performance.
- Monitor the health of the Linux and Windows system through both automated and manual processes.
- Develop and implement IT system security policies and solutions.
- Design, implement and maintain security measures across information systems.
- Develop mitigation strategies to protect sensitive data and systems from cyber threats.
- Provide reliable and efficient backup and restoration.
- Document system administration procedures for routine and complex tasks.
- Maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in IT or related field.
- Professional certifications (minimum Security+).
- 5+ years of experience working in IT/IA related field.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and network operation.
- Knowledge of information system administration and network hardening techniques through group policies and security template.
- Knowledge of security principles and methods such as firewalls and encryption.
- Knowledge of Navy computer security regulations, policies and directives.
- Proficient in programming, debugging, system architecture, database principles, web-based data sharing.
- Ability to work with both hardware, software, network, and operating systems.
- Ability to transfer data and perform data backup and archiving.
- Ability to recover failed systems and servers.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance or favorable adjudication of a national security background investigation. Current successful background investigation completion is a plus.
