: Monitor, manage, maintain, and administer the City's Server Environment and infrastructure including: Active Directory, Office 365 Apps, SQL Databases, Financial Systems, PD Systems, Water Utilities and other City facilities.
Manage and secure all servers and security solutions for network hardware and equipment.
Prepare and monitor, test disaster recovery solutions, including backups of servers and networks.
Plan, implement and monitor changes in infrastructure configurations and install new equipment as needed.
Proactively maintain system health, security, and performance by consistently monitoring, analyzing, and responding to events recorded in system logs across servers, network devices, and applications.
Plans, organizes, schedules, and coordinates the work supporting large-scale corporate and enterprise-level information systems.
Ensures disaster recovery is in place for critical systems.
Serves as lead IT Enterprise Architect and collaborates with Director and staff to implement enterprise architecture practices and principles.
Develops and oversees architecture implementation including documentation of an enterprise architecture framework.
Analyze business needs for future innovative technology, develops solution architecture requirements, and determines potential impact of technology solution.
Fields incoming issues and problem tickets and escalations from end-users to resolve application and software issues within servers, and other mission-critical application systems.
Work with Business Analysts during the initial stages of product/feature definition to evaluate the technical feasibility, potential infrastructure impact, and resource requirements of proposed solutions.
Develops best practices, standard operating procedures, and governance documentation for technology solutions implemented within the city's enterprise systems infrastructure.
Creates and maintain system models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide knowledge transfer to team.
Performs preventive maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, etc.
Conducts project and program management planning as well as time management and prioritization of IT initiatives.
Serves as an Escalation resource to resolve problems and develop recommendations for resolution; identifies need for technical assistance to help in problem resolution; works with technical assistance to resolve problems.
Tests fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have adequately been resolved; identifies and learns appropriate solutions used and supported by the organization.
Informs clients of problems, issues, and resolutions; may manage client expectations; ensures IT solutions meet client needs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems, applications, and related products.
Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
Working technical knowledge of current software protocols, and internet standards.
Extensive experience with core technologies, including hyper-converged infrastructure, virtualization platforms, VMWARE, SolarWinds, Splunk, SharePoint, Azure, Office 365.
Excellent software troubleshooting experience.
Working knowledge of server and PC operating systems as well as Microsoft Active Directory.
Competence with testing, flowchart, and data mapping tools and procedures.
Excellent understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Good project management skills.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
: - Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university majoring in computer science, information services, networking, or related field.
Eight (8) years of increased responsibility as a Server Administrator or Engineer. Bachelors Degree can be substituted for up to four (4) years of experience.
Possesses a current valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report that would result in the ability to drive city-owned vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified Engineer (MSCE)- Server Administration (current supported Server Operating System) or equivalent certifications
Hypervisor Certification- Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI), VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent certifications
CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent certification
