Exciting Opportunity at MSK:We are currently seeking aLaboratory Technologist IV- Automation Specialistto join ourHemePath Service.

Role Overview:
Assist with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures.
Help maintain commonly used equipment and resolve minor equipment problems; a ssures equipment and instruments meet performance standards.
Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain complete documentation for assay tracking and results for review/reporting.
Review all test requests thoroughly for errors, omissions, clarity, and potential problems.
Notify supervisor of discrepancies and record corrective action taken; Functions as supervisor in supervisor's absence.
Reviews workload and workflow and makes recommendations on procedures to improve efficiency and to respond to changes.
Updates procedures when appropriate and assists in writing new technical procedures. Makes recommendations for updating procedure manuals.
Assists supervisor to develop, evaluate, modify, and implement new procedures and new products.
Participates in training/assessing competency of laboratory technologists. Provides feedback on staff for performance appraisals.
Design, develop, and implement automated solutions for processing and storage of clinical samples
Provide automation related technical expertise in the evaluation of new equipment, software, and automated solutions to assist with purchasing related decisions
Participate as a member of departmental and institutional quality and regulatory focused committees.
Create automation protocols on current laboratory equipment to meet the needs of the laboratories and scale up throughput
Collaborate with members of the Bioinformatics teams to integrate automated laboratory solutions into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)/MPath
Recommend new equipment/supplies to best meet demands of the laboratories; s erve as a liaison with various vendors for automation equipment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (Medical Technology, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required, and NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License Required
Extensive Flow Cytometry experience
Bachelor's Degree 7- 10 years required
Master's Degree 7- 10 years preferred
Hours:
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
Location: 327 East 64th Street
Pay Range:$56.77-$90.83
