Lead GNC Engineer – Satellite Servicing, US Citizenship Required
A space company with a mission to service and upgrade satellites in orbit is hiring a Lead GNC Engineer to spearhead development of next-gen proximity ops and GNC technology.
Currently holding active servicing contracts and preparing for a major mission next year, the team is approaching Series A with strong TRL and commercial momentum.
This is a high-impact, full-lifecycle role for someone ready to architect and lead in-space systems development in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the GNC development lifecycle – from architecture through flight
- Lead and mentor a growing technical team
- Guide RPOD algorithm and system design for autonomous servicing
- Collaborate closely with VP of Technology and software/flight teams
- Influence broader mission architecture, vehicle design, and in-space operations
Requirements:
- Significant experience in GNC and spacecraft mission design
- Demonstrated work on RPOD (academic or professional; open to flexibility here)
- Strong background in satellite or spaceflight systems
- Excellent ownership mindset; thrives in fast-moving R&D environments
- US Citizenship required
Nice to Have:
- Basilisk experience (preferred but not required)
- Full project lifecycle experience at a startup or small spacecraft company
