Job Description
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Lead Technical Artist to join our studio in Boston to work on Cyberpunk 2, the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077. Your unique skillset & background will help shape our future workflows. Daily Responsibilities
- Lead the development of technical art initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with artists and engineers to create optimized, high-quality visual assets, tools, and pipeline solutions.
- Address and solve complex technical art challenges.
- Define and document technical art processes, tools, and best practices.
- Maintain the content creation pipeline.
- Coordinate and communicate with other teams to achieve shared goals.
- Inspire and mentor the Technical Art team, fostering an environment of creativity, trust, and excellence.
- Cultivate the team culture in alignment with the company's values and goals.
- Disseminate and escalate information as needed.
- Participate in employment decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Strong artistic sensibility, especially in urban and architectural aesthetics.
- At least 8 years of experience as a Technical Artist, including team leadership experience.
- Proficiency in creating shaders for urban environments, with a solid understanding of urban material properties.
- Portfolio demonstrating expertise in procedural urban generation and relevant shaders.
- Experience with tools such as Houdini, World Machine, and Substance Designer, particularly in cityscape and terrain generation.
- Knowledge of UE4/UE5 and blueprints.
- Outstanding creativity and strong project commitment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude towards feedback and knowledge sharing.
Nice to Have

- Scripting skills in languages like Python or VEX relevant to procedural generation.
- Experience with urban planning or architectural principles.
