We are establishing a new Manufacturing Engineering role at our Kirkland, WA site. This position will connect R&D, Assembly, Testing, Purchasing, and Quality teams, reporting to the Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily operations of the Production Line.
- Provide first-line troubleshooting for technical issues on the production floor.
- Create and update process work instructions, fixture drawings, and documentation.
- Manage Bill of Materials for Electron Microscope assembly.
- Promote Design for Manufacturability at the site.
- Coordinate NPI and product ramp-up in collaboration with R&D, assembly, testing, purchasing, and planning teams.
- Initiate and manage changes to parts and subassemblies to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Document and improve assembly processes and procedures to enhance productivity.
- Optimize facility layout using Time Studies and Lean/5S practices.
- Calculate line efficiency, throughput, and capacity for subassemblies.
- Monitor production quality through Yield, Scrap, and Nonconformities tracking.
- Participate in Material Review Boards.
- Design/develop tools and equipment specifications to improve manufacturing processes.
- Support site safety initiatives with Engineering and Operations Managers.
- Assist procurement with sourcing and vendor selection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of two years' experience in R&D or manufacturing environments.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
- Quick learner willing to develop expertise in new areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, especially SAP.
- Experience with PDM and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Experience with product launch and ramp-up.
- Experience in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environments.
Bruker offers a competitive salary range of $83,000 to $133,000, with potential for growth, plus comprehensive benefits including 401(k), stock purchase plan, healthcare, insurance, and paid time off.
