QuickVisit Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist for our urgent care clinics. As a Medical Biller and Coder, you will support a culture of delivering the highest quality, most affordable, and accessible healthcare in the rural communities we serve.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform daily posting of payments, reconcile payments, and import remits.
- Create and submit claims to insurance companies.
- Review and correct invalid claims from the clearinghouse and handle accordingly.
- Address rejected claims from insurance payers promptly.
- Follow up on aged claims to meet timely filing deadlines.
- Stay updated with payer billing requirements, analyze denied claims, and communicate trends and improvement suggestions.
- Collaborate with providers to resolve coding issues or gather additional information.
- Identify and report process issues that cause denials or delays, recommending process improvements.
- Communicate with physicians and staff for accurate code assignment and additional information.
- Import claims into the clearinghouse and review for accuracy to ensure clean claims.
- Process and correct insurance denials, managing accounts receivable for maximum reimbursement, and document efforts thoroughly.
- Provide customer service regarding claims and insurance processing, working with departments to resolve denials and appeals.
- Address billing questions from customers.
- Accept assignments willingly and perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy, all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct, reporting any suspected violations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational information.
Schedule:
- 8-Hour Shift
- Monday to Friday

Requirements:
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Billing and Coding certificate, diploma, or degree required
- 2-3 years outpatient billing experience
- Experience with eClinicalWorks is preferred but not required
