ERG Job Opportunity: Quality Engineer/Scientist

We are looking for an experienced engineer or scientist to support quality management in an ISO 9001:2015-compliant energetics and chemical manufacturing environment. The role involves designing strategies, managing multiple efforts, and collaborating across departments to enhance quality and safety processes.
This full-time, on-site position is located at a federal site in Indian Head, MD, with support from ERG offices in Chantilly and Arlington, VA. Indian Head is approximately 30 miles from Washington, DC.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing divisions producing torpedo fuel, propellants, igniters, aircrew escape systems, and other explosives in an ISO 9001:2015 facility.
- Assist with quality control, problem-solving, document reviews, audits, and data management.
- Review technical documents like TDPs, QPPs, SOPs, and shop travelers, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Communicate audit and review results effectively and lead training activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet organizational goals.
- Manage multiple projects, fostering collaboration within and across departments.
- Promote safety, reduce costs, and address hazards proactively.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's in engineering or science.
- At least 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in ISO 9001:2015 or similar QMS.
- Deep knowledge of quality engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis, statistical process control, and technical reviews.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and technical documentation.
- Machine shop experience is a plus.
