About the role: The individual assigned to this position is responsible for managing the daily operation of the hydro station in a safe, reliable manner that allows the company to meet all regulatory and compliance requirements, while maximizing production. The Plant Manager operates from established and well-known procedures, performing duties independently with only general direction given. Decisions are made within policy constraints.
As a front-line supervisor, the successful candidate must consistently demonstrate a high level of dedication to the establishment and maintenance of a safe work environment. A strong commitment to the implementation of all employee safety, public safety, dam safety, and environmental programs that may be instituted by the company is required.
The Plant Manager is responsible for effectively and professionally communicating information to the Regional Manager and the Division Manager, direct reports, and personnel from all other departments within the company. The Plant Manager is also expected to communicate and coordinate with outside agencies, contractors, and members of the public in a professional manner that enhances and maintains the company’s image.

What you’ll do:
- Oversight of assigned capital and expense projects, including safety, development, execution, closure, and record keeping.
- Support of plant operations and personnel, including supervising plant employees, developing work schedules, monitoring call outs, supporting outage planning, overseeing the plant LOTO program, and ensuring timely training and reporting.
- Assist with budget development, expenditure tracking, hiring, and maintenance planning.
What you’ll need:
- Associate degree in a technical or engineering discipline or equivalent.
- At least 5 years in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with 2 years managerial experience. Experience in hydro, steam, or gas turbine power plants preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office, OSHA requirements, electrical drawings, and power systems.
- Ability to work extended hours, possess a valid driver’s license, and perform physical tasks as described.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform manual tasks, work in confined spaces, at heights, around water, and in various environmental conditions, with effective communication skills.
