Responsible for the development and evaluation of emerging technologies in
Wireless Radio Access Network (RAN), 5G/6G architecture, DOCSIS, and converged wireline and wireless infrastructure and products. Manage and deploy DOCSIS networks. Evaluate and develop software architecture and platforms necessary to demonstrate proofs of concept for advanced technologies. Work with new technology development and validate. Participate in the development of converged access architecture for wireless and wireline products. Study new technology trends. Formulate impact statement of such technologies on Charter's wireless technology strategy and service offerings. Deploy operating systems and build solutions on virtualization and cloud platforms. Analyze RAN, VRAn and virtual platform KPI's and make correlations between different network KPI's for RAN and virtual platforms. Validate capabilities of emerging technologies through lab evaluations and field trials. Develop tools and processes for technology innovation and proof of concept demonstration technologies on Charter's wireless technology strategy and service offerings. Deploy Open Radio Access Networks (RAN) including O-RAN, O-RU, MIMO, Timing and Sync with GPS, and PTP technologies solutions on CTS hardware. Configure and manage radio, BBU, DU, or CU, including eNB and gNB.Requires Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical or
Electronics Engineering, or a related field. 10 years of experience developing and evaluating emerging technologies in Wireless Radio Access Network (RAN), 5G/6G architecture, or converged wireline or wireless infrastructure and products. 7 years of experience in LTE and NR layers including L1, PHY, MAC, RRC, and protocols including OFDM, modulation, timing/synchronization, or random access to develop new tools and assess new technologies; with wireless access technologies in key networking elements including routing, switching, and security to assess new product requirements, develop technology and architecture solutions and evaluate performance in support of requirements; and, analyzing RAN, VRAn and virtual platform KPI's and making correlations between different network KPI's for RAN and virtual platforms. 5 years of experience in RF hardware and measurements instruments, including Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter, and Network Analyzer to test advanced technologies and solutions; and, configuring and managing radio, BBU, DU, or CU, including eNB and gNB. 2 years of experience deploying operating systems and building solutions on virtualization and cloud platforms.*A hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement is available.
