We're Working On:
Site to Site VPN is a Tier-0 Service offering Oracle Cloud customers the ability to connect to their internal networks and other Cloud providers. OCI's key customers rely on VPN Service; the ability to scale significantly with a highly reliable, serviceable, and maintainable solution is our team's focus going forward. The work is challenging, exciting, and our team is growing with the need for a principle engineer to help us achieve these lofty expectations.
We're Looking For:
Seeking an experienced and passionate Principal Software Developer to join the VPN service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems programming and a desire to delve into the depths of operating systems (Linux) network virtualization and networking protocols (UDP, TCP, BGP). You will collaborate our internal OCI Networking teams, design innovative solutions, and develop high-performance, high reliability, scalable VPN solutions.
Qualifications:
• BS / MS CS, EE, and/or other technical degree with 6-10+ years of relevant experience
• A deep understanding of systems programming and application development
• Proficiency in C (C++ is Optional and not mandatory)
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Preferred Qualifications :
• Coursework in Computer Networks, Operating Systems (Linux), Computer Architecture, Algorithms, Distributed Systems, and Virtualized Compute and Networking
• Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, IP, BGP, etc.)
• Familiarity with Containerization, PodMan, and Hypervisors

Responsibilities
The role requires a strong technical contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS / MS degree with experience relevant to networking, operating systems and cloud operations plus 6-10+ years of software engineering or closely related experience is required.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
