The Product Specialist is responsible growing sales for assigned products through excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Primary/essential job duties include but are not limited to:
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Treat all customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
Maintain an expert understanding of assigned product categories. Be available to help assist in technical questions with both internal and external customers as well as help assist in material estimation to quote.
Complete at minimum 4 Material Estimations into Quote's Daily.
Document product / technical conversations with customers. Complete 5 Per day.
Leverage supplier relationships to bring value to our customers. Seek pathways toward differentiation, customer value and profit through new opportunities.
Evaluate prospective suppliers and their products. Seek pathways toward differentiation, customer value and profit through new opportunities.
Assist branch management with the growth and development of assigned products.
Assist Branch Managers in the negotiation of material purchases to enhance profitability and maintain market competitiveness. Negotiations should consider appropriate inventory levels, freight cost, transfers and warehouse capacity.
Achieve appropriate inventory turns for assigned products.
Provide solutions to reduce dead stock & SLOB levels according to branch goals.
Assist Branch Management to ensure purchase order accuracy with products, pricing, and expected receipt dates.
Review order acknowledgements for special orders. Check acknowledgements for accuracy, customer, and Branch Management approval.
Assist in the reconciliation of assigned product category vendor issues on a weekly basis to ensure appropriate branch receives credit for vendor issues.
Communicate supplier and price changes to appropriate audience.
Assist Regional Purchasing with the input of new products in Agility.
Answer sales calls as needed. Assist customers at the sales counter as needed.
Participate in branch meetings, product training and promotional events as directed by management.
REQUIREMENTS

Prior success selling building products in a B2B environment and managing a multi-million-dollar territory.
Have a passion for being a business partner to our customer and give them the tools and products needed to increase their sales and earnings.
Requires a person who is a self-starter and has great organization and communication skills.
Have a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation for local travel in your territory. There might be occasional travel to the corporate office in McKinney, TX.
Authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship for any length of time.
Able to pass required pre-employment criminal, driving background check and drug test.
Education and/or Experience
College degree preferred.
3+ years in the building material distribution industry, particularly selling residential products, with demonstrated success in those products to a local contractor base.
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
Bilingual and be able to read, write and speak English and Spanish languages preferred,
in-order to communicate with vendors, customers, and other branch employees.
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Internet, Word, and Excel
Ability to learn Agility operating software package.
Must possess an entrepreneur spirit, be self-motivated, and enthusiastic about our business.
Must have excellent customer service skills and attitude.
Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
Must be analytical and able to solve problems.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be ethical and honest.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $59,600.00 to $77,400.00 Annually. SRS/Heritage considers multiple factors including job related knowledge, skillset and experience when determining the final salary.
