The Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons Office of Development (VP&S OOD), a part of the Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC), is dedicated to facilitating relationships that support the vision and mission of CUIMC and VP&S: to transform health by driving discovery, advancing care, and educating leaders.
Position Summary
The Production Manager, Development Communications will report to the Assistant Vice President of Communications and Donor Relations in the VP&S OOD. The incumbent will support the department's production activities to further efforts in fundraising, communications, and strategic events/initiatives.
The incumbent will utilize their technical, production, and project management expertise to support the fundraising efforts of VP&S OOD. Projects may include partnering with gift officers assigned to clinical and research areas to facilitate production activities. The incumbent will serve as both a project manager, collaborating with external and internal vendors and constituents to facilitate print, digital, photography and video production activities, in addition to handling an array of production tasks ranging from content management, basic design layout, basic video clip editing and website management, among other projects assigned.
Responsibilities
- General Production and Design and Video Tasks
Responsibilities include informal design and layout of text, images and other media to develop materials such as newsletters, proposals, invitations and communications resources using relevant tools i.e., Adobe, In-Design, Salesforce, CANVA, etc. Responsibilities also include content gathering, management and some light editing of photos, video clip editing, websites and other multi-media using relevant tools i.e. Vimeo, YouTube, Drupal etc. - 30%
- Project Management of Fundraising and Communications Initiatives (Digital and Print)
The incumbent will manage the production of key projects from inception to completion including the development of fundraising proposals, impact reports, and other communications vehicles such as newsletters, webpages, brochures, mailers, and other related resources. These efforts include content gathering, asset management, and project management from inception to completion. It includes working closely with graphic designers, print houses, and promotional product vendors to develop materials and ensure quality product is on time. - 25%
- Event/Initiative Related Functions
The incumbent will manage the production elements for some strategic events and initiatives including the development of invitations, programs, signage and online event landing pages, ensuring that products are delivered in a timely and professional manner. Provide on-site production event/initiative support, including management, setup and breakdown of materials, as well as AV support. Produce and distribute event photos as directed, and other duties as assigned. - 25%
