Base pay range
$27.81/hr - $27.81/hr
This is a grant-funded position until 12/31/25. The Program Coordinator will lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of CORE’s climate resilience and disaster preparedness programs. Responsibilities include working with management to meet grant objectives, monitoring program requirements, managing budgets, supervising CERC Fellows, and preparing reports for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage grant programs and collaborate with organizational and community partners
- Ensure fiscal compliance with budgets
- Maintain compliance with legal and organizational policies
- Identify growth opportunities and develop strategic partnerships
- Build relationships with internal teams and external agencies
- Collect and evaluate data for program performance
- Research and pursue new grant opportunities
- Represent CORE at community events
- Be prepared to deploy for emergency operations across California
- Perform other duties as assigned
Scope and Travel:
- Report to CA Climate Program Manager
- Oversee AmeriCorps Fellows
- Local travel within Alameda, Santa Clara, Contra Costa Counties; possible travel for disaster response
- Meet with partners and funders across Bay Area and Northern California
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public administration, or related field (graduate degree preferred)
- Knowledge of California’s disaster and climate risks
- Relevant certifications (CPR, CERT, CEM, PMP) preferred
- 2-3 years in environmental sciences, climate resilience, or community outreach
- 1+ year supervisory experience
- Proficiency in a second language (Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog) preferred
Experience:
- 1-2 years in nonprofit or public sector
- Experience with grant management and compliance
- Community outreach and education skills
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Familiarity with California agencies and organizations
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Project management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of Esri GIS is a plus
- Proactive, flexible, detail-oriented
- Bilingual skills are a plus
