Programmer III
Location: Greensboro, NC
Overview: The Programmer III creates, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, debugging, and documenting programs. Provides customer-facing technical assistance to support business development, sales, and project activities for the A/V Unified Communications team. Responsible for programming and delivering solutions while applying technical competencies to ensure sustainable competitive advantage.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop device/system modules for reuse on standard systems.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop/modify control standards.
- Design and program commercial control systems.
- Load and troubleshoot control system programs onsite.
- Update control system software and firmware.
- Provide online and phone support for control systems and programs.
- Act as a consultant for designing custom user interfaces.
- Create custom user interfaces for control systems.
- Research new products and develop new modules.
- Work within tight deadlines as part of a high-performing team.
- Maintain project schedules and assist in deployment of solutions.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues and participate in customer meetings.
- Research, develop, and apply new technologies to improve products and methodologies.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Generate and execute test plans in-house and onsite.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to engineering process development and standards adherence.
- Stay informed of industry trends in A/V telecommunications.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibilities are assigned for this role.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 1-2 years of experience, or 8-10 years of experience without a degree.
- 5+ years of experience with AMX/Crestron languages.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Ability to follow plans and execute with attention to detail.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Avixa CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D preferred.
- Additional certifications like Crestron, AMX, Extron, C#, etc., are a plus.
Travel Requirements: Some travel to client locations may be required.
Security Clearance: SECRET Level required; U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain clearance necessary.
Physical Demands/Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, etc., with accommodations as needed.
