PROJECT ACCOUNTANT - Manufacturing Company in Gwinnett County
A leading manufacturing and distribution company is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to manage the financial aspects of assigned projects from initiation through completion. This role collaborates closely with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management to ensure accurate billing, timely collections, and financial compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in project accounting, excellent analytical skills, and experience working with ERP systems such as SAP.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee financial management of assigned projects, including order setup, invoicing, tracking, and collections
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review project budgets, margins, and approve changes
Prepare and process customer invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and reconcile customer accounts
Manage project-related purchase orders, cross-company invoices, and ensure alignment with purchase amounts
Track project costs, inventory, and prepare monthly backlog reconciliations
Assist with month-end close, reporting, audits, and ad hoc financial projects
Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with accounting policies
Support best practices to streamline project accounting processes
Utilize SAP and Excel for data entry, reporting, and analysis
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
3+ years of project accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, formulas)
Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes and cash application
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
