Job Description:
The Project Geotechnical Engineer will work closely with engineering geologists under the supervision of a principal engineer. The role involves collaboration with our team, clients, consultants, and contractors on diverse development projects. Key responsibilities include analyzing soil composition, terrain, and geologic data to prepare engineering recommendations. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated individual eager to grow professionally and contribute to impactful projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage geotechnical projects from concept through construction.
- Assist senior engineers in project execution, handling engineering tasks of varying complexity.
- Oversee project management duties, including budgeting, quality control, and scheduling.
- Interpret geotechnical data to determine soil and material properties for foundation design.
- Perform analyses related to slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement.
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- Collaborate effectively within teams and mentor junior staff.
- Participate actively in a fast-paced environment.
- Gather data and information to inform design decisions.
- Conduct calculations and modeling to support project development.
Education and Licensure:
- M.S. in Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer license in Washington or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.
Experience:
- 3 to 7 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of project management experience.
Professional Skills:
Experience in:
- Geotechnical soil evaluation and construction observation.
- Foundation support, deep foundations, and soil settlement.
- Slope stability analysis.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rugged or remote locations.
- Willingness to travel daily and possibly overnight within Washington and northern Oregon (reimbursed).
- Valid driver’s license.
