Job Description:
We are seeking a Project Manager to support the Distribution Wildfire Mitigation Team. This role requires a strong background in Electric Distribution systems and experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder engineering projects. You will oversee engineering studies, work with multiple consulting firms, and manage all aspects of project planning, execution, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate distribution-focused wildfire mitigation projects.
- Interface with up to 5 external engineering firms, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Administer project plans, track progress, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Conduct and review engineering studies related to system protection and electric distribution.
- Deliver accurate and timely weekly status reports and monthly financial forecasts and reports.
- Monitor and review project financials, spending trends, and budget adherence.
- Manage and support a team of 9–12 personnel, including engineers, data scientists, consultants, and project managers.
- Serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and issue resolution.
- Maintain project documentation, dashboards, logs, and SharePoint records.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Financial Acumen: Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost tracking.
- Electric Distribution Experience: Strong understanding of electric distribution systems and the ability to distinguish between transmission and distribution.
- Vendor Management: Proven ability to manage and coordinate with multiple external consultants.
- Technical Background: Preferred experience in system protection or electrical distribution engineering.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
