EDCO is seeking a strategic and experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations across our in-house manufactured equipment and contract fabrication divisions. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a professional with a strong command of procurement strategy, vendor management, ERP systems, and team leadership.

The Purchasing Manager will be central to ensuring continuity in production, controlling costs, and maintaining our commitment to high-quality, American-made manufacturing.
Procurement Strategy & Execution:
- Source and procure raw materials, components, and outsourced services to support production and contract manufacturing.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure delivery performance, pricing, and quality expectations are met or exceeded.
- Negotiate long-term contracts, pricing terms, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct supplier audits and resolve non-conformances or late deliveries.
Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
- Ensure consistent material availability to prevent production delays and minimize downtime.
- Monitor market trends, cost fluctuations, and supply risks.
- Work closely with planning and production teams for accurate material requirement planning (MRP).
Systems & Reporting:
- Utilize ERP system (M2M) to manage procurement activities and supplier performance tracking.
- Develop and maintain purchasing reports, KPIs, and forecasts to drive data-informed decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure sourced materials meet technical and quality specifications.
- Support new product development through timely sourcing of specialty or prototype components.
- Lead, develop, and mentor purchasing staff to ensure professional growth and high team performance.
- Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable through regular coaching and reviews.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and training for purchasing personnel.
- Create and enforce standard operating procedures and uphold company policies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct employee reviews, time and attendance compliance (ADP), and address performance issues promptly.
✅ 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or retail environment
✅ 5+ years of experience directly managing people in a professional setting
✅ Proficient with ERP systems (preferably M2M)
✅ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
✅ Strong negotiation, organizational, and analytical abilities
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- Ability to analyze data and resolve procurement discrepancies
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- High integrity and discretion with confidential information
- Strong attendance and punctuality history
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
- Industrial warehouse/manufacturing setting
- Temperature fluctuations with seasonal weather (hot/cold)
- Loud noise levels, moving mechanical equipment
- Concrete flooring; may require standing for up to 8 hours
- Use of stairs (elevator available)

- Safety glasses and earplugs on the shop floor
