Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Assurance Engineer to support supplier quality initiatives. In this role, you will implement best-in-class quality tools and processes to ensure suppliers are prepared to meet program requirements and deliver first-time quality. You will be responsible for analyzing defect trends, leading root cause and corrective action investigations, and driving continuous improvement efforts across the supply base. This position requires a proactive, analytical problem solver with strong communication and collaboration skills to engage both internal teams and external suppliers.
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement tools and processes to ensure supplier readiness and alignment with program quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues by analyzing defect trends and leading rapid Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
- Support the execution of supply chain strategies that align with established Supplier Quality goals and objectives.
- Partner with Category and Supplier Quality teams to support SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request), audit, FAI (First Article Inspection), change management, and risk management processes.
- Conduct or support on-site or remote supplier visits to drive tactical improvements and ensure compliance with program expectations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and supplier leadership during business reviews to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and implement corrective measures.
- Assist with the deployment of AS9145: APQP/PPAP processes across the supply base to mitigate risks and ensure consistency.
- Contribute to Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives within the supplier quality function.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, or a related engineering discipline.
- Proficiency with best-in-class manufacturing principles, zero-defect strategies, and quality control methodologies.
- Expert knowledge of 8D problem solving and root cause analysis techniques.
- Strong verbal, written, and analytical communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Project management and stakeholder engagement skills in dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified or experienced in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with AS9145: APQP/PPAP, AS9100, NADCAP, and special process requirements.
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-600 or equivalent standards.
- RCCA expertise and a strong background in driving supplier-related quality improvements.
