Job Overview
WMATA is seeking a Quality Compliance Engineer to impact public transit in the Washington DC region. The role involves quality assurance, warranty compliance, and fleet assessments. Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, electrical, industrial engineering, engineering management, or related field.
- Alternatively, an Associate’s degree with two years of relevant engineering experience may be considered.
Experience
- At least four years of experience in quality or engineering within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Certifications

Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (QCE) within 2 years of hire preferred.
Job Responsibilities
- Record and report inspection data accurately, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Supervise and guide quality inspectors during inspections.
- Validate parts and equipment against engineering documents.
- Review and approve inspection reports and engineering documents.
- Recommend improvements for maintenance, procedures, and safety.
- Represent WMATA in supplier audits and monitor contractor quality plans.
- Perform root cause analysis and develop quality improvement strategies.
