About the Role
Join our team as the North American Rail Regional Category Manager, overseeing $45M in rail freight purchases and railcar leasing across 40+ sites throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. This role combines strategic negotiation, market expertise, and transportation logistics to drive cost savings and sustainability initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Lead rail freight negotiations and manage railcar leasing for North America
- Develop cost-saving strategies and identify alternative transportation options
- Build supplier relationships and execute strategic sourcing projects
- Analyze market trends to provide valuable insights to stakeholders
- Collaborate with Logistics, Operations, and Continuous Improvement teams
- Support cross-functional projects to reduce costs and improve sustainability
What You'll Need
- Associates or Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years in transportation procurement (rail experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of US, Canadian, and Mexican transportation markets
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time
