Position Details

Summary
Responsible for menu development, nutrition education activities, and in-service training for nutrition programs in San Francisco, San Mateo County, and Santa Clara County. Assists with supervising department staff and ensuring operational compliance.
Essential Functions
- Develops and certifies menus with caterers to meet guidelines and client needs; manages menu substitutions and documentation.
- Submits nutrition program menus and analyses to the Department of Disabilities and Aging Services (DAS).
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across nutrition sites.
- Conducts kitchen assessments for compliance with DAS, Health Department, and standards.
- Prepares for DAS audits and monitoring.
- Gathers client feedback and collaborates with caterers to maintain quality.
- Plans and coordinates nutrition education activities and develops teaching materials.
- Creates in-service training schedules and resources for staff and volunteers.
- Supervises department staff and oversees operational compliance as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Dietitian license with at least one year of experience working with older adults.
- Familiarity with Asian dietary culture and quality Asian ethnic food planning and control.
- California Food Protection Manager Certification within 3 months of employment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Cantonese.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Chinese Word Processing, and internet; familiar with NutriBase 16.
- Ability to pass a physical fitness test, including lifting up to 30 lbs. and performing physical activities.
