Overview
The Hgglf Lab studies how B lymphocytes sense and respond to molecular stresses and insults to determine how B cell coping mechanisms control antibody formation and immune responses in contexts of cancer and vaccination. Therefore, the lab performs immunological assays to study B cells including flow cytometry, ELISA, immunofluorescent microscopy), mouse colony management, genotyping, tissue isolation from mouse bone marrow, spleen, lymph nodes.
Responsibilities
- Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures;
- Mouse ear punching
- Mouse weaning
- Mouse injections
- Tissue harvesting
- Immunoessays
- Flow Cytometry
- Tissue Prep for Micropsy
- Require occasional guidance;
- Order routine supplies;
- Modify technical procedures;
- Train other lab members;
- Guide other lab members;
- A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
- Occasionally analyze data;
- Interpret data;
- Make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.*
Qualifications
- Required to have at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.
- previous experience from B cell biology lab preferred
- prior experience from a B cell lab, working with memory B cells or plasma cells

Post Probationary Rate:27.33
Job Rate:28.18
Maximum Salary Range:USD $26.80/Hr.
Salary: 26.8 - 28.18 hourly
