Roadway Project Manager
GBA is looking for a Roadway Civil Engineer to join our Transportation
Group. This position entails project management and a lead design role for transportation projects. We work on a variety of project types including planning and corridor studies, street and highway design, roadway infrastructure rehabilitation, bike and pedestrian facility design and ADA compliance, and complex interchanges. The ideal candidate will offer IDOT design and project management expertise, however, Missouri DOT (MoDOT) design experience will be strongly considered as well. This role includes providing guidance to team members and leading by example. Strong ethical standards and a desire to help others progress in their career will be key. - Manage and/or lead Design on transportation engineering projects
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, perform site visits, and review
- Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations and studies to identify
- Be responsible for project quality on tasks assigned as defined in
- Provide hands-on expertise to lead/contribute to the design of
- Coordinate assigned activities with clients to discuss special
- Coach and mentor less experienced staff and assist with their career
- Use basic project management skills to plan, organize and monitor
- Establish and maintain client relationships with new and existing
- Assist in business development opportunities, including preparation
- Prepare and present projects to governing bodies and various boards
- Represents our clients in meetings with members of other public and
- Confirms project compliance with local, state, and federal
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Possess a broad range of DOT design and project management
- Ability to sell work and manage the execution of the work.
- Ability to coordinate and work closely with local and national
- Familiarity with CAD software, specifically Bentleys Microstation
- Strong time and project management skills, including prioritization
- Experience developing, monitoring, and managing project
- Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, procedures,
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, other states a plus
- 5+ years of experience in project design and plan development, DOT
- Experience with MicroStation
- Strong working technical knowledge of engineering principles and
- Experience with project pursuits and proposal development is a plus
- Ability to lead design teams on a variety of transportation project
- Experience with negotiating project scopes and proven success
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to
Salary - Approximately \$90,000 - \$125,000, depending on education
