Position Overview
The Safety Manager administers project safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. They may oversee one or multiple projects and report to a Senior Safety Manager or Regional Safety Director. The role may involve managing Safety Coordinators and Field Safety Specialists. This position is located at our project site at SFO Airport.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily safety audits and communicate findings with the project team.
- Prepare safety reports, conduct briefings, and act as a safety spokesperson.
- Resolve safety issues and respond to emergencies.
- Identify safety gaps and implement corrective measures.
- Investigate incidents and develop prevention strategies.
- Conduct safety training and maintain records.
- Advise management on safety compliance and requirements.
- Manage safety program budgets and resources.
- Develop and review safety plans and participate in project meetings.
- Implement crisis management and emergency procedures.
- Ensure proper setup of medical facilities and safety procedures.
- Review safety protocols and conduct root cause analyses.
- Develop training materials and maintain safety documentation.
- Manage injury cases and coordinate with insurance providers.
Qualifications
- Recognize hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Understand federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic safety tools.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or related field preferred.
- Professional Safety Certification (e.g., GSP, CHST) preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant safety construction experience preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 100%.

Salary Range
$124,800 - $163,700 annually, based on experience and location.
