Position Overview:
LEAD Technical is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Technician to support our data center operations. This role is critical in maintaining a secure and compliant work environment by ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections, and reinforcing a culture of safety across all operational activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Workplace Safety Assessments: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of job sites and operational areas within the data center to identify and address safety risks or non-compliant behaviors. Document findings and recommend corrective measures.
- Incident Response and Analysis: Assist in responding to on-site safety events. Lead or support investigations to determine root causes and collaborate with team leads to drive preventive solutions.
- Maintenance of Safety Resources: Monitor the condition and availability of safety tools and supplies such as PPE, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency response gear. Coordinate inspections and replacements as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations. Help prepare for internal and external safety audits by ensuring documentation, signage, and procedures are up to date.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety checks, incident logs, equipment inspections, and corrective actions. Support data entry into safety management systems and databases.
- Emergency Readiness: Ensure all team members are trained on site-specific emergency response procedures and evacuation routes. Participate in drills and preparedness planning.
- Safety Training and Communication: Support delivery of safety orientation and refresher sessions. Promote awareness of safe work practices through ongoing communication and coaching.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify trends, gaps, or opportunities to strengthen LEAD Technical’s safety programs. Recommend and help implement enhanced tools, protocols, or training content.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; an associate’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field is a plus.
- Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, First Aid, or CPR are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a workplace safety, EHS, or compliance role—data center or industrial experience highly desirable.
- Familiarity with federal and state safety guidelines, particularly OSHA standards.
- Proficiency in documenting inspections and incident reports.
