24 Seven is partnering with a top global sportswear client to help them find a Senior Apparel Innovation Technical Developer for this hybrid position in Portland, OR. This is a 12 month contract with potential to extend working 4 days a week onsite. While on contract, you'd be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, sick hours and more.
Ideal Candidate: will have a Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science, or a related field, with 6+ years of apparel development experience and advanced knowledge of the end-to-end product lifecycle, as well as bra and/or compression patterning and fitting experience. They are also skilled in pattern making, construction, manufacturing, and proficient in Adobe Illustrator and CAD pattern design software such as Optitex, CLO, or Browzwear.
Role Overview:
As the Senior Innovation Technical Developer, you’ll lead complex apparel innovation projects by applying advanced expertise in product fit, development, research, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate has a strong track record in ideation and research, deep knowledge of product construction, and thrives in ambiguity with innovative, problem-solving skills.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring creative concepts to life through 3D and 2D development, driving new thinking in performance product design. Responsibilities include producing proof-of-concept prototypes, exploring new technologies and methods of make, and presenting findings to internal teams. You’ll help bridge innovation and execution, ensuring smooth transition from concept to product.
Responsibilities:
• Create concept ideas from 2D to 4D
• Bra and/or compression patterning + fitting experience
• Grading expertise
• 3D CLO expertise
• Garment factory + Innovation center communication and collaboration, end to end concept development
• Explore new methods of make
• Lead Prototype integration process
• Collaborate on concept calendar flow and work back plans
• Athlete fit expert, facilitating fit sessions + proto reviews
• Product security oversight
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science or related field
• Minimum 6 years’ apparel development experience
• Advance knowledge of the apparel development process from concept through production, including but not limited to pattern making, construction, engineering, costing, consumer electronics, manufacturing, materials, machinery
• Strong collaboration skills among a diverse talent project team
• Ability to lead functional teams or large, cross-functional projects
• Ability to work with vendors to ensure execution and manufacturability
• Ability to interpret concept ideas and offer solutions
• Proficiency with MC Office programs
• Ability to use Adobe Illustrator and knowledge of CAD Pattern Design software (Optitiex, CLO or Browzwear)
