Grant Industries, Inc.Senior Chemist IIJob Description:Senior Chemist II positions offered by Grand Industries, Inc. (Elmwood Park, New Jersey). Work with Product Development, Formulation Team, and Quality control in evaluating and assessing testing methodologies and their application to different raw materials. Interface with technical support groups including marketing, product development, and analytical testing. Conduct means setup testing methods of finished products to maintain quality in production no quality control functions. Research and analyze the chemical properties of substances to develop new materials, products, and knowledge. Evaluate evaluation of testing results from contract laboratories in order to ensure that the agreed methods and testing parameters were properly followed. Formulate product prototypes and evaluate them for chemical and physical properties, performance, and stability. Develop new formulations for different personal care products, cosmetics, and OTCs. Improve current formulations of products and research product formulations and properties of raw materials. Establish product specifications and procedures as required for R&D projects. Plan and carry out research projects, such as development of products and of testing methods. Support the scale-ups from prototype to commercial manufacture ready with a particular focus on Good Manufacturing Practices. Obtain process technology and equipment information for productions, as well as obtain data and information required for regulatory submissions and patent applications. Provide technical and supervisory support within the laboratory and other departments as needed. Stay up to date on current publications releases by USP, FDA and other pertinent regulatory bodies to ensure the Quality Control Chemistry Laboratory complies in the areas of analytical applications, release specifications, and documentation practices. Position based in Elmwood Park, NJ. Domestic travel required up to 20% of working time.Minimum Requirements:Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Chemistry, Biology, Cosmetic Science, or a related field. Education, training, or experience must include: working in cosmetic/personal care formulation; OTC Sunscreen, Pigmented, Non pigmented products formulation; creating and manipulating raw materials; product innovation and development processes; project management; and, natural and Ayurvedic products. Experience may be gained concurrently. Position based in Elmwood Park, NJ.
