Your Responsibilities
Partner with key business stakeholders to support Choice's brand management across platforms.
Provide advice and counsel on marketing, advertising, social media, content creation, promotions, contests, sponsorships, loyalty rewards program, etc.
Develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with consumer facing initiatives.
Lead a team of professionals that manage Choice's domestic and international trademark and copyright portfolio.
Provide direct legal support as a subject matter expert for corporate commercial agreements, transactions and licensing of IP assets.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
Law Degree and Bar Membership required.
Minimum of 10 years' relevant in-house experience with brands, trademarks, copyrights, advertising, promotions, privacy, consumer protection, IP licensing, contracts and an interest in developing knowledge of other areas
Experience with loyalty rewards programs and compliance with the applicable laws and regulations is preferred.
Experience with financial marketing/products, such as Choice's co-branded credit cards, is preferred.
Must have experience managing direct reports, multi-departmental taskforces and large-scale projects.
Must have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to consistently prioritize, coordinate and satisfy numerous competing demands to effectively achieve business outcomes.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and drafting skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and legal judgment.
Willingness and desire to learn and understand the Company's various business departments and operations to build effective "business partnerships" with internal clients and drive results.

Your Team
This is a leadership role that will report to the VP & Assistant General Counsel. You will have a team and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Senior Counsel, Brands & Advertising, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we're located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $190,000 to $225,00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP), as well as annual awards of Choice Hotels International common stock through Choice's Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTI Plan).
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
