Senior Data Analyst

As a Data Analyst at Capital One, you will leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions to tackle business problems.
Work Areas
- Innovation
- Use open source and digital technologies to mine complex, voluminous, and varied data sources and platforms.
- Build well-managed data solutions, tools, and capabilities for self-service data consumption.
- Explore and quickly grasp new technologies to support various initiatives.
- Business Intelligence
- Partner with business teams to design and develop tools, metrics, and dashboards for insights and visualization.
- Drive analysis to provide meaningful insights into business strategies.
- Data Management
- Promote understanding and adherence to data quality principles, including metadata, lineage, and definitions.
- Collaborate with tech teams on security and data governance.
- Develop tools to monitor and report on data quality.
Ideal Candidate
- Degree in a STEM discipline.
- Scripting experience in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
- Experience with various data forms, including data warehouses and unstructured data.
- Experience with AWS services.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree in a quantitative field, with 2+ years of data analytics experience, or current pursuit of a Master’s degree with expected completion before start date.
- At least 1 year of scripting language experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with business intelligence visualization tools.
- At least 1 year working with data languages and platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s in STEM.
- 2+ years coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
- 2+ years in process management methodologies like Agile, Lean, Six Sigma.
- 1+ year experience with AWS and data governance tools.
