As a Data Analyst at Capital One, you will leverage analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions to tackle business problems.

Work Areas

1. Innovation
   • Use open source and digital technologies to mine complex, voluminous, and varied data sources and platforms.
   • Build well-managed data solutions, tools, and capabilities for self-service data consumption.
   • Explore and quickly grasp new technologies to support various initiatives.
2. Business Intelligence
   • Partner with business teams to design and develop tools, metrics, and dashboards for insights and visualization.
   • Drive analysis to provide meaningful insights into business strategies.
3. Data Management
   • Promote understanding and adherence to data quality principles, including metadata, lineage, and definitions.
   • Collaborate with tech teams on security and data governance.
   • Develop tools to monitor and report on data quality.

Ideal Candidate

• Degree in a STEM discipline.
• Scripting experience in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
• Experience with various data forms, including data warehouses and unstructured data.
• Experience with AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative field, with 2+ years of data analytics experience, or current pursuit of a Master’s degree with expected completion before start date.
• At least 1 year of scripting language experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with business intelligence visualization tools.
• At least 1 year working with data languages and platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s in STEM.
• 2+ years coding in Python, R, Spark, or SQL.
• 2+ years in process management methodologies like Agile, Lean, Six Sigma.
• 1+ year experience with AWS and data governance tools.
