Human Resources Director at Taylor Farms, IL
The Director of Operations plans, directs, and coordinates the overall operations of the organization. The Operations Director is responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental and organizational operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization.
- Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Control inventory. Plan effective strategies for the financial wellbeing of the company.
- Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
- Plan the use of human resources. Organize recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish organizational structures. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor and evaluate performance.
- Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing and distribution of goods.
- Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity.
- Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary.
- Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as Planning, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
- Manage customer support. Plan and support sales and marketing activities.
- Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.
- Member of HACCP team
- Ensure Quality & Food Safety training for team members, as well as overall employee safety.
- Position is required to participate in the review of food safety and quality management system documentation, plan performance, policies, procedures, risk and hazard assessments.
- Position is expected to promote food safety and quality culture and being engaged in its performance.
- Position is responsible for aligning department and direct reports to meet food safety and quality objectives as reviewed in internal KPI’s.
- Position is expected to participate in CAPA activities related to audit findings (internal and external), customer complaints, verification and validation activities and process deviations.
- Operations manager will assume role responsibilities of GM/President in case of absence
Work Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree or experience equivalent required
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a management position required
- Previous foodservice experience preferred
- Knowledge and experience in organization effectiveness
- Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management
- Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
- Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
- Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices
