Senior Financial Analyst - Remote (NYC) - $80-110K
A leading national nonprofit organization is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their collaborative and high-performing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance professional who is passionate about using their expertise to drive impact while working in a mission-focused environment.
They are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented finance partner with strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling skills — and ideally, someone familiar with Workday Adaptive Planning and OfficeConnect reporting tools. This role will work closely with leaders across the organization, playing a critical part in both departmental and enterprise-wide financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted FP&A liaison to assigned departments, guiding them through annual budgeting, forecasting cycles, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Build and deliver detailed monthly financial reports, including variance analyses and scenario modeling to support informed decision-making.
- Help drive the annual operating plan process and contribute to long-range financial strategies.
- Partner with the FP&A team to develop materials for executive leadership and Board presentations.
- Lead or co-lead organization-wide FP&A initiatives, such as budget communications, personnel planning, reporting strategies, and resource development.
- Support enhancements to the Adaptive Planning system and associated financial reporting tools.
- Research financial best practices and emerging technologies to continually improve internal processes.
- Respond to ad-hoc financial analysis requests from senior leadership, providing thoughtful and timely insights.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in FP&A, budgeting, reporting, or financial analysis roles.
- Experience utilizing Workday Adaptive Planning/OfficeConnect/Adaptive Insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; ability to build and manage complex financial models.
- Experience working with large data sets and a variety of planning or reporting systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and business partnering skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and curiosity to drive improvements.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented, highly collaborative culture.
Preferred but not required:
- Familiarity with Workday Financials reporting.
- Exposure to non-profit financial management practices, grants reporting, or fund accounting.
- Experience with Salesforce, Tableau
