Job Title: Senior HVAC Project Manager

Job Summary
We seek an experienced and results-driven Senior HVAC Project Manager to lead complex commercial HVAC projects in San Francisco, CA. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of mechanical systems and HVAC design/build processes. The ideal candidate will manage the whole project lifecycle—from pre-construction through closeout—while maintaining high-quality standards, adhering to timelines and budgets, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale commercial HVAC projects from conceptual design through completion.
- Develop, track, and manage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and resource allocation.
- Oversee and coordinate project phases including design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Utilize tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project to manage documentation, schedules, and reporting.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify quality, progress, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to deliver successful outcomes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, proactively addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to project engineers, coordinators, and junior managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in commercial HVAC project management, with 3+ years in a senior or leadership capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC design, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and other relevant software tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven success in delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Local to San Francisco, CA, or willing to relocate.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience managing HVAC projects in critical healthcare, data centers, or higher education environments.
- Background in mechanical contracting or design-build firms.
