Description
SAIC is actively seeking an experienced Senior Military Training and Exercise Policy Analyst to join our Military Training team in support of the Assistant Secretary of Defense/ Readiness (ASD(R))/Strategic Readiness customer.
Candidate should have recent, within 5 years, operational experience in planning or facilitating Joint training exercises with subject matter expertise (SME) in Live, Virtual Constructive (LVC) exercises, and/or Modeling & Simulation. The candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and implementing advanced simulation training programs to enhance operational readiness and effectiveness. This role is critical in providing realistic, high-fidelity training scenarios that support mission planning and execution.
Work is onsite at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.
Job Duties
- Collaborate with Military Services, Joint Staff, and Combatant Command (COCpolOMs) to identify joint training and exercise gaps.
- Analyze and mitigate related risks to ensure effective training outcomes.
- Validate and maximize resources to optimize training and exercise activities.
- Integrate training and exercise activities across different military branches and units.
- Review and accelerate progress against the mission of developing and executing best-in-class training and exercise capabilities for the joint force.
- Create draft training and exercise policy for distribution and issuance.
- Develop memorandums, information papers, talking points, and briefings for senior DoD leaders that communicate policies, positions, programmatic information, requirements, and requests for information. Responses from Military Training will either be quick term responses and long-term assignments.
- Research, analyze and develop written recommendations on simulation-based training programs and exercises.
- Design and configure simulation environments to replicate real-world kill web operational scenarios.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of simulation training programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports on training outcomes and simulation system performance.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in simulation technology and training methodologies.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 15 years or more of related experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and ten (10) years of more experience; four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Top Secret/SCI.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in simulations operations, live virtual constructive (LVC) military training, or a related field.
- Proficiency in the use of simulation software and tools.
- Army FA-57 background a plus.
- Pentagon experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of joint training and exercise methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and senior military leadership.
- Experience in risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Experience with senior leadership working groups.
- OSD common processes and tools such as Policy Issuance, routing and distribution. (CATMS)
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and the ability to rebalance priorities.
- Ability to work independently on customer site under general direction from management.
