DESCRIPTION
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) collaborates with UCSD Health executives, physicians, and teams to execute strategic vision and operational priorities. The SPM manages projects from conception through execution and sustainment, solving problems, analyzing data, and making recommendations to achieve organizational goals. The role involves managing short- and long-term projects that require organization, planning, research, analysis, development, and implementation. Understanding and applying principles of Change Management is critical for success. The SPM works with interdisciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, utilizing project management tools, skills, and methodologies to drive results. Experience with portfolio management, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and measuring and communicating impact is strongly preferred. The SPM should exhibit excellent presentation and communication skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training. Relevant experience includes healthcare project and/or portfolio management.
Thorough knowledge of change management processes, methodologies, and applications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, project planning, and implementation skills.
Skilled in facilitation, consulting, and relationship building. Ability to coach, facilitate, and influence others.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree or PhD.
PMP certification.
Lean Six Sigma Certification.
Healthcare experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Portfolio management experience.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (prorated if appointment is less than 100%).
Hourly Range: $40.90 - $75.10.
Compensation factors include experience, skills, knowledge, education, certifications, and organizational needs. The posted pay scale reflects the budgeted salary or hourly range, which may differ based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (if applicable).
