Job Description:
The Accountant II will oversee full-cycle property accounting for a diverse portfolio. This role requires hands-on financial management including monthly close processes, financial reporting, variance analysis, and collaboration across departments to support property operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly close procedures and prepare financial reports for multiple properties
- Post accruals, reconcile accounts, and analyze budget-to-actual variances
- Assist with quarterly reporting and schedules related to SEC filings
- Coordinate with property managers and tenants to resolve billing or account issues
- Review and abstract lease agreements for financial accuracy
- Support junior staff and collaborate with internal teams on financial matters
- Participate in special accounting projects as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, specifically within property or construction industries
- Full-cycle accounting knowledge across multiple entities or portfolios
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor suitable for a polished corporate environment
- Experience with YARDI software is a huge plus
