Position Summary
The Senior Research Assistant will support the design, execution, and management of medical and clinical research projects within a specific department. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data while collaborating with research teams, faculty, and students. The Senior Research Assistant will also assist in the preparation of publications, reports, and grant proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Support:
Assist in the design, execution, and management of research projects, ensuring alignment with study protocols.
Collect, process, and analyze biological specimens or clinical data.
Conduct statistical analysis and interpret experimental data using software as appropriate.
Collaborate with team members on the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations for publication or conferences.
Project Management:
Coordinate project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
Maintain detailed and organized records of experiments, data, and research activities.
Ensure compliance with institutional, federal, and ethical guidelines for research.
Grant and Funding Support:
Assist with the preparation and submission of grant proposals and reports.
Mentorship:
Provide guidance and training to junior research staff, students, and interns.
Coordinate research activities and ensure quality control of data collection and documentation.
Administrative Duties:
Oversee the maintenance of laboratory equipment and research tools.
Assist with ordering supplies and managing inventory.
Collaborate with the department and institutional administration for regulatory submissions ( IRB , IACUC , etc.).
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
Primarily lab-based.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in [biology, biochemistry, public health, or a related field];
4+ years of research experience, preferably in a clinical or medical research setting.
Experience with statistical software and laboratory techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree is preferred.
Relevant research certifications (e.g., CITI , HIPAA , etc.) are a plus.
