Job description
This position offers an opportunity to apply and expand your knowledge of transmission line engineering, including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles, with responsibilities such as:
- Designing transmission lines in the 69kV to 500kV range
- Conducting cost analyses, developing design criteria, and managing routing and siting of transmission lines
- Performing conductor selection studies, shielding, grounding, and induction studies
- Collaborating with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components
The role also includes opportunities to:
- Engage with a diverse client base and project teams
- Travel occasionally for site visits and meetings
- Develop proposals and cost estimates for new projects
It offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in-office and two days remote, and a generous relocation package depending on your location.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Proficiency with PLS-CADD software
- At least 5 years of experience in transmission line projects, including design, cost estimation, scheduling, procurement, and liaising with construction teams
- Knowledge of right of way requirements, conductor sags/tensions, and construction documents
- Experience with technical plans, drawings, and engineering calculations
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, etc.)
- Proficiency with MS Office and excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
**Valued but not required:**
- Current PE license or ability to obtain within a year
- Experience in proposals, cost estimates, scheduling, and additional software tools

**Compensation Range:** $78,400 - $119,850
