Software Engineer - Remote / Telecommute

Job Description:

Pay Range: $80/hr - $85/hr

Responsibilities:

1. Review and approve modifications of existing databases and database management systems.
2. Instruct staff to write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of databases to the management system.
3. Direct database development and approve project scope and limitations.
4. Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish the project.
5. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
6. Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
7. Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.

4. Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, requirements gathering, to development, testing, and delivery.
5. Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.
6. Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
7. Knowledge of development software related to systems, such as SQL, Visual Basic, etc.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field required.
