Overview
BigBear.ai is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer to support a federal client’s mission to accelerate discovery and delivery of identity and network-based intelligence to counter national security threat actors by applying experience relevant in an intelligence domain.
This role will be hybrid/remote to a Washington, DC office location (3-4 days onsite as required). Eligible candidates will also possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
What you will do
- Provide technical expertise in a range of cloud technologies to include cloud development, cloud architecture, cloud system engineering, cloud security, DevSecOps engineering and operations, and Agile development methodologies.
- Lead the team on projects of various layers of complexity and create solutions involving or affecting financial, scheduling, methodology, tools, and prepare long and short-range plans for application selection, system development, processes, procedures, and producing methods.
- Act as a liaison to take the project requirements from the customer and then translate that to a technical requirement.
- Manage the project stakeholders and work with them as a technical point of contact for everything related to cloud engineering.
- Plan, execute, and close projects that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Understand customer requirements and project KPIs.
- Implement various development, testing, automation tools, and IT Infrastructure.
- Plan the team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities.
- Set up the tools and the required infrastructure.
- Define and set development, test, release, update, and support the DevSecOps process.
- Review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
- Troubleshoot techniques and fix code bugs.
- Monitor the process during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and update or create new processes for improvement and minimizing waste.
- Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible.
- Identify and deploy security measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessments and risk management.
- Manage incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Coordinate and communicate with the team and with customers both external and internal.
- Select and deploy appropriate CI/CD tools.
- Manage periodic reporting on the progress to management and customers.
What you need to have
Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 8 years of experience; Master's Degree and 3 to 6 years of experience; PhD and 0 to 3 years of experience (in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 6 additional years of relevant experience).
- Clearance: All candidates must maintain an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience working on Linux/Windows based infrastructure.
- Understanding of Python, Java, JavaScript, and similar technologies.
- Configuration and management of databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services.
- Knowledge and experience with working with one of the CI/CD tools like GitLab or Jenkins.
- Advanced experience working with one of the Cloud Service Providers AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Awareness of critical concepts in DevSecOps and Agile principles.
What we'd like you to have
- CompTIA Security.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate or Solution Architect, similar certification in Azure or GCP preferred.
- Certification in one of the CI/CD tools preferable GitLab or Jenkins or attended courses in those.
- ITIL Certification a plus.
